We’ve officially been in our house for seven months and I feel like we have accomplished A LOT! We’re still trying to figure out how to use each space, arrange furniture and are slowly chipping away at the to-do list. There are several rooms we haven’t even touched (bathrooms, bedrooms) but there are other rooms that are 90% finished. Because we have a couple *big* projects planned for our main level, each will get a post along the way!
Entry/Stairs
Done: All new paint, new carpet on stairs and top floor, new entry light, new thermostat
To-Do: Paint front door, rip out tile floor and replace with wood –> happening this year!
Before & Current
Front Room & Dining Room
Done: All new paint, curtains, artwork, new light pendant, new blinds for the front room
To-Do: Replace blinds in dining room
Long term goal: Look at a new dining set, but that’s pretty low on the list right now
Kitchen, Breakfast, Family Room
Done: All new paint, new blinds in the living room
To-Do: This whole space is a doozy and we have big plans for it. We’re currently working on design/layout plans for a new kitchen. New flooring for the entire main level (sadly that includes the current hardwood) is all getting installed. The garden window in the kitchen is also being replaced.
Long term goal: Reface the fireplace and built-ins, but again that’s pretty low on the list.
Half Bath
Done: You can read about it here!
To-Do: Artwork, shorten the water supply lines to the sink, replace tile with wood
Upstairs
Other than E’s room and the hall bath, we’ve basically been ignoring the upstairs. I plan on doing a post for those two spaces. Everything upstairs was also painted, with some additional work in the hall bath.
Basement
The basement has been our winter project, and I also plan on doing a whole post.
Done: All new paint, ripped out the carpet and installed vinyl plank flooring with quarter round
To-Do: Address bathroom (a whole project in itself), hang artwork, build some shelving and organize
So lots to do, but so much done!
