Toronto

I recently traveled to Toronto for work and spent about 5 days in the city. I really enjoyed my time there! The city reminded me a lot of Chicago. The people I interacted with during the week were super friendly, downtown was extremely walkable and there are direct flights to/from St. Louis. Even though I was in an office environment working for the majority of the time, we still go out here and there for some fun and food.

Where we stayed: The Adelaide Hotel
Not kidding when I say this was probably the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in. It is a luxury hotel, so I’m not surprised how great it was. The staff was on point and the rooms were awesome (heated bathroom floors!). My room was a mini apartment. Actually, I’m pretty sure it was bigger than my apartment in college. The views were also fantastic – especially from the gym on the top floor.

Food and Coffee:
Smoke’s Poutinerie: because we were in Canada

El Catrin: Mexican in the Distillery District. This district was so neat! Old brick warehouse type of buildings with brick roads, some art sculptures, restaurants. The food was alright, nothing special. Smaller portions for more than I would expect to pay. But the patio was awesome.

Momofuku Noodle & Milk Bar: I’m still dreaming of the bbq pork steam buns and the cake balls. The ramen was also really good.

B. Good: We had this catered for lunch – salads, burgers, sliders, smoothies. My salad was really great and the different sliders were also pretty good for being a chain cafe.

Maker Pizza: Really good pizza. It reminded me a lot of PW Pizza here in St. Louis

Neo Coffee Bar: Hipster feeling neighborhood coffee shop. Vanilla latte was on the sweeter side, but still tasty

Second Cup Coffee Shop: We had breakfast and coffee catered in by here one morning. Just your average coffee shop with a decent pastry selection.

Dineen Coffee Co: This was my favorite coffee place of the trip! The place is so cute and the almond croissant was delicious. The interior reminded me of something you’d see in NYC or Europe.

. . .

Even though it wasn’t a vacation and I was working inside every day, I still had a great time in Toronto and would be happy to go back any time!
