Colorado

Tim and I flew out to Colorado last Thursday night to spend a [very quick] few days out there with our friends Matt and Ellen. We jammed packed as much as we could into our short trip…like I don’t know if we could have done much more in the time we were out there.

We got to know the “peeping” blue bear in downtown Denver…

Then we headed up to Ft. Collins for some local brews at the CooperSmith Brewery, Odell Brewery, and the New Belgium Brewery. So many tasty beers.

We went to Red Rocks Amphitheater for the Michael Franti & Spearhead concert. I’ve only been to a couple concerts at outdoor venues, but this outdoor amphitheater is at the top of my list. It was seriously amazing.

And no trip to Colorado is complete without some mountain action…so we went down to Colorado Springs to head up Pike’s Peak. We stopped at a gorgeous reservoir on the way up, and once at the top you realize why the Rockies were named what they are—the mountains really are rocky. Who would have thought, right?

I wanted to see even more rocks, so we headed to the Garden of the Gods. Talk about amazing rock formations! We hiked around a bit and climbed on some sweet rocks.

I’m pretty much jealous that Matt & Ellen get to call Colorado their home, but am really excited for them to get back to the Midwest in a couple more years! We had a blast out there. Oh, and thanks Ellen for letting me “steal” some of your photos 🙂
